ROME: TOTAL WAR
Rome: Total War features a campaign with 21 differing factions,
all of which are fully capable of interaction. The beginning three families of
Romans are the Julii, Brutii, and the Scipii.
The Julii are the house of Julius, to which such famous leaders
as Gaius Julius Caesar and Augustus Octavian belong, and located in the northern
portion of Italy. Their main enemies are the Gauls, who inhabit modern France.
The Brutii are the house of Brutus, to which Marcus Brutus
belonged. They are located on the Eastern tip of Italy, and hate the Greek city
states.
The Scipii is the house of such famous men as Scipio Africanus
and Lucius Macedonicus, heroes of Africa and Macedon. They focus on naval
superiority and fight the Greek city states and the Carthaginians.
While the main focus in Rome: Total War is Roman might, the
player can unlock nations like the Greeks and Carthaginians as well as various
barbarian groups such as the Gauls and Germans. Each nation features special
units and capabilities, unique to their
factions.
Another aspect of Rome: Total War that is historical is the
battles feature. In this mode, players can choose battles in which they
are given command of a military force under such famous men as Julius Caesar
and Hannibal as well as infamous leaders like Publius Varus.
